Humanity is also bound to hit a series of obstacles–some one to two billion people face water scarcity, increased drought, malnutrition, and the spread of infectious diseases
I really like it when they are promoting a new Spider-man movie because I feel like Spider-man really exists, and we all love him, and that he will protect us from crimes, both great and small. I feel like the posters are our thank you to him for being our champion. I just wish Peter Parker wasn't crying in all of them.
I like this quote from Michael Eisner:
Technology doesn’t change entertainment, he said, it just presents temporary uncertainty about business models and distribution platforms and intellectual property protection.
From NewTeeVee.
I saw John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the UN, on The Daily Show last night. Jon Stewart commented that it seemed almost like John Bolton was against the UN, or at the very least was not particularly fond of the organization. Bolton agreed. He then proceeded to explain that it is the right, nay, duty of the President to stuff every seat of power with those who agree with his point of view. What he left unspoken was "regardless of their ability or desire to do a good job and represent the people of this country." His point was, if the people elected the President, then the President's responsibility is to lead the country where HE wants it to go and thus must grease the wheels of progress by placing his cronies in power.
And all I could think is, holy shit, they really do live in a total fantasy world.
